LUCKY FOR HER, Megan Michelson's day job—being an associate editor at Skiing magazine, based in Boulder, Colorado—lets her spend a lot of time in the mountains. In 2007, she entered a big-mountain competition in the Italian Dolomites. She told Flylow's Dan Abrams if she won, he'd have to sponsor her. He had no choice but to follow through. In 2008, the Tahoe-area native won the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships in Crested Butte, Colorado, and the World Freeskiing Telemark Championships in Alyeska, Alaska. She appears in Powderwhore Productions' 2008 film The Pact.

When she’s not skiing or mountain biking near her hometown, Megan freelances for other national publications, such as Outside, Women’s Health, Powder, Men’s Journal, Men's Fitness, Women’s Adventure, Canoe & Kayak, Telemark Skier, and Denver’s city magazine, 5280. Megan grew up ski racing near Lake Tahoe, California, and received an English degree from Middlebury College in Vermont.
