heJumps got this email the other day, and we are psyched to share this young athlete/philanthropist with you. She has a big heart. For starters, she donated $5,000 of her personal money to Soft Power Health, which used the money in 2006 to pay for Uganda doctor salaries, to refurbish a school, to help fund sending a girl to medical school, and encourage people to raise another $25,000. She also twice visited the rehabilitation center in Texas for Iraqi War Veterans to help teach them how to kayak!

My name is Emily Jackson and I am professional kayaker. I am also someone who jumps into life’s adventure and find myself into the most unusual and amazing experiences. For example I am writing this to you as I sit in the Atlanta Airport on my way to Uganda. I grew up in an RV while my father was a 4x World Champion for Freestyle Kayaking. I am now the 2x World Champion and married to the World Champion for Men.

Getting outside and getting more people outside is a big part of my life. I like to think I inspire people to get outside onto the rivers….

I am also a philanthropist and work for a non-profit in Uganda focusing on Malaria. I am never in one place and always jumping into the next adventure and hope you will want to join me in it.
