THE RED-HEADED, freckled faced Jessica Baker calls herself a "juggler." She is a professional freeskier, ski instructor, hydrologist, and founder and head coach/guide for Ski Divas Women’s Ski Camps. And she is a success in all of her ventures.

She grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho in the Selkirk mountains. From a young age she built a successful ski racing career and in 1999 moved to Jackson Hole, Wyo., where she pursued her love for backcountry adventures, big mountains, climbing and skiing. She has won over five big mountain freeskiing competitions; landing such titles as 2000 North American Freeskiing Champion, 2004 US Freeskiing Nationals Champion, third overall woman on the World Freeskiing Tour both 2004 and 2005, and more.

Baker is currently an active PSIA level III DECL (Division Education Clinic Leader) for the Intermountain West and a trainer for the Jackson Hole Ski School. She has coached Steep Skiing Camps, and women's camps, in Jackson Hole, British Columbia, Idaho, Alaska, and France for more than seven years, and has taught and guided skiing for over 13 years. In the spring Jessica spends her time at Alaska Rendezvous Heli-Guides near Valdez, Alaska, and is the first woman heli-ski guide for the operation. Additionally, Jessica is the head backcountry guide for Empire Freeride summer ski camps on Beartooth Pass where she developed a backcountry and ski mountaineering curriculum for youth ages 10 to 21. She is Avalanche Level III guide certified, an avid climber and first year climbing guide with Exum Mountain Guides. She has her WFR (Wilderness First Responder), and has training in crevasse rescue. She has skied such peaks as the Grand Teton, La Meije Pan d’Radou, Cosmiques-Mont Blanc, Gannet Peak, WY, and has landed first descents in the Chugach, Sawtooth, Teton, and Purcell mountain ranges.

Jessica’s inspiration for Ski Divas women’s ski camps came from her time skiing with Doug and Emily Coombs in La Grave, France. As she explored the terrain and gained knowledge of the area, she realized that the environment lent itself primarily to a male dominated demographic. It is her goal and passion to bring women to La Grave to help them improve their technical skiing skills, and open a new world of possibilities in the European Alps. Additionally, she wants to help women boost their self-esteem and confidence, create lasting friendships and connections abroad, and most importantly, create an environment for women to challenge themselves with rewarding and supportive outcomes, in the incredible setting of the French Alps, Alaska, and more.
