The following is an e-mail from Zoya Lynch who is on the Canadian women's ski jumping team. The women ski jumpers of the world are lobbying hard to get the event in the 2010 Winter Olympics, but the International Olympic Committee has said, "no." They aren't giving up yet. If you're interesting in supporting the team, e-mail skijumpgirls.canada@gmail.com.
Hi! I just found this website and it seems pretty sweet. All the stories are so awesome! My name is Zoya, I'm 17 from Calgary and I'm a member of the women's national ski jumping team. My dream is to go to the Olympics! The only problem is that women's ski jumping is the only sport that doesn't have men and women in the Olympics. Me and my three teammates filed a complaint with the [Canadian] Human Rights Commission saying that not allowing us to jump is discriminatory. We've been battling the IOC for what seems like a million years! We're trying to make some noise and get our story out there. This website seems like a really cool place to get support from other women athletes ...
Thanks again!!!
Zoya
