SkiBacs Party: Loving life SheJumps style!

Comment on this Post Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket “We are all pretty much on cloud-nine thousand." It was what kept repeating through my head, over and over again as I brushed past the crowds of eager snow-film virgins, all of us starry eyed and stoked during our night of sharing a “Jumper’s” staple: risk taking and letting it all hang out. Never-ever skiers and boarders were inspired to try a wintertime sport while enthused old couples enjoyed swanky martinis and had sweet Discrete tossed at them from Lynsey and myself. The SheJumps crew teamed up with our wonderful Boeing coordinators to help catapult the SheJumps vibe into the unsuspecting Showbox venue in downtown Seattle. The night had everything and anything needed to inspire a new crowd — generally many Boeing employees who had never been to a ski movie premiere and more specifically, anyone who was willing to open their minds to the possibility of inspiration. Watching people’s mouths gape open to the background of a epic line flashing across a giant plasma screen was only part of the evening’s highlights. We had posters where people could write their year’s intention to take a risk and I think everyone walked away with a prize... Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket We want our events to focus on those who are willing to take a risk, big or small. SheJumps had envisioned a soulful and inspiring night and we surely walked away with much more than that. SheJumps is based on erasing comfort zones and relieving stress and anxiety through action. Basically this means that we like to get people on stage to do something they never would have expected to do when signing up for an innocent movie premiere. We started off the night with a push-up contest on stage and moved onto handstand contests, a beer chugging contest, and of course, a booty-shaking contest! (Grâce à Lynsey!) The SheJumps benefit on Nov. 30 went beyond what I had conceived was possible in the paradigm of our organization. And sure enough the event was a microcosm of the SheJumps mission itself. Watching the reps and sponsors cruise in, set up, and smile on behalf of what we consider to be a very noble cause was a really empowering experience and we are definitely grateful for their generosity and faith in our honor. I think I speak for everyone when I say that SheJumps was able to successfully define itself as a legit and necessary new philosophy in a traditional world. People could tell what was riding on it for us to be able to debut to the public; the vibe of stoke, inspiration, an overdue appreciation for dreaming and YOU our faithful Jumpers helped make the entire event a success.
